Honeymoon Essentials

Looking to avoid those post-wedding blues? Dive straight in with some pre-honeymoon planning I say! Whilst you’ve probably booked your honeymoon way before your big day any further honeymoon organising probably fell by the way side in the midst of all the wedmin (bet you’re glad that part of getting married is over!)

So i’ve compiled a short list of absolute essentials regardless of your destination. Dust of your list book and get excited, this part is 100% just about you two!

1) White errrrrything

You may have already lovingly packed away your wedding dress but that doesn’t mean you can’t still play on the bride thing. If you’re going on a beach style honeymoon why not make the most of that wedding glow and wear a white bikini or sheer beach cover up. A plain white jumpsuit with big statement earrings is also a striking look for romantic evening meals. A slight nod to your new bride status will make you feel extra special on your honeymoon. As long as you’re not paring the above with a veil (!) you can totally still get away with head to toe white for a little longer!

2) Perfume

It’s an obvious one but don’t forget to take the perfume you wore on your wedding day or treat yourself to something new at duty free. Nothing transports you back to a memory as beautifully as a whiff of scent. Buying something new for honeymoon will always instantly remind you of those those happy, heady days of ‘just married’ life. My faves are bold fragrances with a hint of spice such as Tom Ford’s Black Orchid. It’s such a distinct and gorgeous smell perfect for warm evenings on your honeymoon.

3) Camera

It goes without saying but now is the time to invest in a decent camera. You are no doubt heading away to somewhere you’ve dreamt of for a long time, making sure you capture it all so you can look back as those happy memories for years to come is so important, iPhone cameras just don’t compare. If you invest in one with a flip down screen you'‘ll also be able to capture nice images with both of you in even when there is no one else around to snap you.

4) A speaker and your wedding playlist

Your honeymoon is your time to digest your wedding and ‘debrief’ with your new husband. Sitting with a bottle of wine in the evenings and listening to your wedding playlist will give you all the feels and playing it out an iPhone just isn’t going to cut the mustard. The bose travel speaker is so good I actually use it with my TV at home! It has excellent sound and great battery life and can easily be chucked in with your hand luggage, your playlist however is down to you ( told you the macarena was a bad idea!)
